Gary Vaynerchuk. Arguably the nicest guy on the web. His web show WineLibrary has skyrocketed to the top of the heap. Part of that has to do with the quality of his show but, a large portion of his fame is due to his ability to convert viewers into true fans by taking the initiative to connect to nearly everyone in a very personal way. He answers every email. He responds to every @ tweet.

Loren Feldman. He’s the curmudgeon of the web video world. He takes pot shots, he stirs things up. He’s made a name for himself by taking on some of the top players in the social web and cutting them down to size with wit and a total lack of fear. He’s really a big softie, but don’t tell anyone.

Much to my surprise, when I caught the two of them in the hallway shaking hands at SXSW, the internet universe did not implode upon itself. Two rockstars of the video web, two very different strategies. Viva la variety!

I got a chance to take some good photos of my Miata; clean and in magic hour light. Headed to the mountains tomorrow with agent S. to cover those gorgeous wheels in brake dust, and seek the elusive roadside diner. Viva la roadster.

Halifax in spring is one of the most awesome places in the world. Too bad spring doesn’t really start until the last week of April.

This week starts the Halifax Comedy Fest. Soon this town will be overflowing with the best of Canadian stand-up comics. Looking forward to seeing the ones I already know, and to the late night drinking binges that will inevitably ensue with the ones I’ve not yet met.

Tomorrow I’ll be tech-wrangling for the second Pinicface best of show at Ginger’s, and I think I’ve landed a guest spot at Yuk’s for next weekend. Oh, and don’t forget Tuesday’s Alternative comedy night at The Frigate. With warm weather and the end of exams, plus a touring pro or two showing up for some stage time, it should be a great week in the basement of Pogue Fado.
